It’s 2025! Do you have a one year Bible reading plan?

Did you know that most Christians have not yet read the entire Bible? To be sure, most of us desire to do so. But it’s the busyness of life, if not our outright laziness, that drives us on the side. This year, I encourage everyone to commit to read the Bible from cover to cover, in 365 days. Even if you have done this already in the past, it is still a joy to immerse oneself into the Word of God everyday for an entire year.

Why read the Bible in a year?

For the challenge. Yes, it is a real challenge. It will force you to spend time everyday to reading, even when you don’t feel like it. You may be sick, tired, in the field, or on overtime, but you will have to open your Bible and read. At times, when you miss a day or two, you will need to cover the back logs.

For the joy of discovery. If you have not read the entire Bible since you became a Christ, this challenge will surely bring you into new discoveries. Prepare to discover new things from God’s Book!

For the sake of your soul. Even a casual reading of the Bible can prick the heart and stir the mind! Especially because the Spirit of God longs to guide us into all truth. In my experience, this is especially evident in the early hours of the day or just before you go to sleep.

How do we do this?

The best way to do this is to follow a pre-arranged order of one-year reading, like this Seven Sections Bible Reading Plan. Each day is assigned a portion of the Bible, and the whole week takes you to seven sections, namely, the Epistles, the Law, History, Psalms, Poetry, Prophecy, and Gospels. I have done this, two years and ago, and I’m sure you can, too.

You can download the PDF file, have it printed or place in your tablet/phone for easy reading and marking.

A few guidelines

  • Track your progress. Mark the PDf or have a place to record your daily reading.
  • If you miss a day or two, either (1) you read where you left off, or (2) you cross out the day that you missed and carry on.
  • Reward yourself when you are done reading, either for the day or after a week. This helps you get on track
  • Inspire yourself to read. For myself, a background music that is soft and quiet helps me focus on my study.

Now to encourage you all, everyone who completes the reading in one year – by December 31 – gets a new Bible from your pastor.

Daily reading of the Scriptures is a way to commit yourself to the Word and act on it. If you are up to the challenge, tells us in the comment section below so we will know who is joining me on this. and we will update one another as to our progress. Let’s do it!
