Written by In a few more days (as of this writing) we are all going to say goodbye to the year 2024 and welcome the new year 2025. Aren’t we all excited? For some reason, it is always exciting to look forward to the new year. And we all have our reasons.
For some of us this passing year has been full of troubles and heartaches, and we cannot wait until it is over and done. After all, it is right to leave our troubles behind. For others, we have gone through remarkable transitions in life and we look forward to new and better things in 2025.
We may have different reasons for saying goodbye to this old year, but we can have the same expectation: that the coming year, with God’s help, will give us the opportunity to make things better, and to see things in better light. This has nothing to do with what the world calls “fate,” but it all has something to do with “faith.” faith in God and His promises. Faith only looks forward and upward, but never backward and downward. That’s because real faith is anchored in God and His faithful words.
So as we say goodbye to 2024, let’s welcome the year 2025 with our hearts and minds settled in God’s faithful words, “I am with you always.”
It is faith in God’s word that produces hope in us. Without the word of God we could only close our eyes and wish things will get better. But that is not so with God’s word!
